Meaning

In fact, perhaps Meaning was purely an ingredient of certain items that the world put forth and not of others, perhaps it arose just in the way that flavor arises out of a conjunction of spices and herbs and long cooking and a sensitive palate, and yet is not reducible to any of those things; was a name only for the nameless conjunction, the slight clutch in his throat, the hum in his ears, Oh I see, I get it. The Solitudes, John Crowley.
