A gateway of sorts

Here I am at the 37th week of my pregnancy. I've noticed as I look at my own energy a distinct change. Whereas just a few weeks ago the golden glow of the spirit world seemed centered around my belly, now it has grown. I found myself requesting to look at my energetic body, and kept getting the same glowing picture. I realized with amazement, that's ME! That glowing otherworldly space is perhaps what happens to women when they are preparing to bring a spirit into the physical world. Perhaps it's just what I look like when this is happening. Never the less, I am humbled in the face of this moment to come. I am grateful at the reminder of fertility and growth during this, the darkest time of the year. So here I am serving as a doorway during this the darkest time of the year. Speaking of doorways... My daughter was confronted with the mystery of mistletoe recently. She kept insisting that it belonged on the tree itself. Of course my husband and I kept trying to demonstrate why we should hang it in the door way.

For Smooches!! we'd exclaim.

She shook her head & kept putting it back on the tree. I was curious enough to do a little research on mistletoe. Turns out mistletoe is used as a symbol of fertility during this time of year, because it blooms right around winter solstice. Red berries remind us of life, during this the resting time of year. It is considered poisonous, but also is used to treat circulatory and respiratory problems. Fourth and fifth chakra issues. Even more interesting is that I learned that the plant is a hemi-parasitic and lives on other trees. So my daughter was right in her knowledge that mistletoe does belong ON the tree.

Still I like the kissing part better!
